The EU and Armenia today opened negotiations on a new overarching framework for the deepening of their bilateral relations. Negotiations were launched by High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the Commission, Federica Mogherini, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian.


Le gouverneur d’Aden, Jaafar Mohammed Saad, a été tué ce jour dans un attentat à la voiture piégée dans le quartier de Tawahi de la ville d’Aden.

Cet attentat est le dernier d’une série d’actes terroristes visant des fonctionnaires locaux, des membres captifs du personnel militaire (des forces gouvernementales ou des milices houthistes) et des civils, y compris des fidèles. 


The Governor of Aden Jaafar Mohammed Saad was killed today in an attack on his convoy in the Tawahi district of Aden city.

This attack is the latest in a series of terrorist acts against local officials, captive military personnel -whether government forces or Houthi militia-, and civilians, including worshippers.


Aujourd'hui le Tchad est endeuillé. Le triple attentat faisant 27 morts et 80 blessés dans la région du Lac Tchad représente une menace pour la stabilité du pays et de la région.

L'Union européenne présente ses condoléances aux familles des victimes ainsi qu'au peuple et autorités tchadiennes.

Face à la menace terroriste, l'UE reste mobilisée aux côtés du Tchad et des pays de la région. Elle est prête à utiliser tous ses instruments pour aider à la lutte contre le terrorisme et pour la sécurité dans la région du Sahel.



Today Chad is in mourning. The triple attack which killed 27 people and injured 80 in the Lake Chad area is a threat to the stability of the country and the region.

The European Union extends its condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the people and the Chadian authorities.

The EU remains mobilised against this terrorist threat alongside Chad and the countries of the region. 


"The PPAP aims at improving the livelihoods of smallholder cocoa and coffee producers through the improvement of performance and sustainability of value chains. The EU grant will enable up-scaling of the cocoa component of the project and allow for 8 000 new cocoa farming households in East New Britain Province and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville to benefit from PPAP from 2015-2017."

High Representative Federica Mogherini today gave strong messages of support to Non-Governmental Organisations working in the field of Human Rights, telling the 17th EU-NGO Forum on Human Rights that "civil society has a crucial role to play in our foreign policy. It is not only a key player, but also a main driver for change in all societies, in terms of democracy, good governance, resilience, cohesion, promotion of fundamental human rights."

The European Union (EU) deployed an Election Follow-up Mission (EFM) to Honduras from 22 November 2015 to 17 December 2015.
