The EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei is based in Jakarta. Its mission is to promote the interests of the European Union (EU) and to build ever closer ties between the EU and Indonesia, and between the EU and Brunei.
EU relations with Indonesia (a G20 member) are strong, reflecting Indonesia's status as the country with the 4th largest population in the world and an economic giant, accounting for 35 % of ASEAN GDP. The EU and Indonesia share similar values on regional development, democracy, human rights and the environment.

The EU’s external policies, strategies, instruments and missions to support stability, promote human rights and democracy, seek to spread prosperity and support the enforcement of the rule of law and good governance.
