"We are deeply saddened by the news that a helicopter of the Pakistani army carrying foreign diplomats crashed upon landing this morning in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. According to information received from the Pakistani Army, four foreigners and two Pakistani citizens were killed, among them the Ambassadors of Norway and the Philippines and the wives of the Indonesian and Malaysian ambassadors. We extend our profound condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wish prompt recovery to those injured in the crash.”
This week the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini paid her first official visit to Asia. She travelled to the Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China with the aim of strengthening ties with two of the EU's strategic partners in the region.
