Acteur majeur sur le plan politique et du développement, l'Union européenne est également le premier partenaire commercial du Cameroun. Les relations entre l'Union européenne (UE) et le Cameroun remontent à plusieurs décennies. L'année 2017 marque le 60e anniversaire de la signature du Traité de Rome qui établit le marché commun européen et instaure la politique de coopération avec les futurs pays Afrique-Caraïbe-Pacifique (ACP).

Les projets de partenariat avec l’UE visent à aider le Cameroun à développer son potentiel économique. Ils couvrent plusieurs secteurs tels que la bonne gouvernance et les réformes économiques et institutionnelles, le commerce et l’intégration régionale ainsi que les infrastructures, communications et transports.

The EU’s external policies, strategies, instruments and missions to support stability, promote human rights and democracy, seek to spread prosperity and support the enforcement of the rule of law and good governance.

The EU has long enjoyed a close relationship with Cambodia and its people. Through substantial development assistance, support to the democratic process and a commitment to open markets, the EU has helped Cambodia in its efforts to build a brighter future for its population and to play an active role on the regional and international stages.
