The 24th Meeting of the ASEAN-EU Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) was held on 2 March 2017 in Jakarta. The meeting noted that 2017 marked the 40th Anniversary of the ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations, and further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen ASEAN-EU relations, following the conclusions of the 21st ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting held in Bangkok on 13-14 October 2016.
The East African Community member states (Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi) negotiated as a bloc an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) since 2007, when they decided to break out of the Eastern Southern Africa EPA configuration. In November 2007, they agreed on an interim EPA ("Framework EPA" or "FEPA"), but in June 2010 both parties agreed to continue negotiations for a full (comprehensive) EPA.
On 23 February 2017, Marjaana Sall, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Seychelles undertook a site visit to La Digue in the context of the "Seychelles Global Climate Change Alliance project". She was accompanied by the Principal Secretary, Energy and Climate Change Department from the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change.
The European Commission and the Government of Iraq have signed today a financing agreement of 10 million Euros to support the implementation of the 'Breaking the cycle of sectarian violence in Iraq' programme.
