Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU research and innovation programme open to the world with a budget of almost €80 billion euros to fund collaborative research projects by researchers from Europe and beyond including Bangladesh. Singapore, 13 July 2017 The European Union Delegation to Singapore issues the following statement in agreement with the EU Heads of Mission, and the Head of Mission of Norway: The European Union (EU) calls on the Singapore authorities to halt the execution of Mr Prabagaran Srivijayan, to commute his sentence to a non-capital sentence and to adopt a moratorium on all executions.
The EU, its Member States and Norway present in Afghanistan call for the timely conclusion of the investigation of the accusations of gross human rights' abuses allegedly committed by 1st Vice President, General Abdul Rashid Dostum in a fair trial which observes due process of law. There must be no impunity.
The EU and its Member States and Norway urge all Afghans to continue to work together to promote peace, stability and democracy, based on full respect for the rule of law by all citizens, regardless of position or standing in society.
