On 14th March, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Union Delegation to Lao PDR successfully hosted a one-day workshop on “Promoting and Protecting the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”. This seminar was a side-event to the 7th Lao PDR-EU Human Rights Dialogue that took place last month in Vientiane. It presented an opportunity for the EU and the Lao PDR to continue expanding and deepening the conversation that took place in the dialogue, this time with specific reference to the rights of people with disabilities.
Today, Ambassador Jean-Michel Dumond, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Sudan announced to the
journalists after the end of a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the talks with the Sudanese officials
were "open" and "constructive".
On 9 March 2017, EU Ambassador to Swaziland, Nicola Bellomo, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Paul Dlamini, launched a E78 million project funded by the European Union and the World Bank aimed at assisting more than 15 000 orphaned and vulnerable children (OVCs) in the country. The project was launched at Hlane constituency in the east of Swaziland.
