El Comisario de la Unión Europea para la Cooperación Internacional y el Desarrollo, Neven Mimica, se reunió con el Presidente de Guatemala, Jimmy Morales.

Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Cooperation was the guest of honour of a special meeting, jointly organised by Patrizio Fondi, Ambassador of the European Union, and Frank Mollen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to which all the EU Ambassadors accredited to the UAE attended on 14 January.

The attack in the heart of Jakarta today is tragic reminder that the threat of terrorism is global and has to be tackled globally.


Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the victims. We stand firm by the Indonesian government and its people in their fight against violence and extremism. I will personally convey my condolences to the Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi - with whom I also spoke a few days ago - in a phone call later today.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that the Ebola transmissions in West Africa have come to an end for the moment, as Liberia marks today 42 days without new Ebola cases – an important landmark that neighbouring Guinea and Sierra Leone crossed last November and December.

The largest Ebola epidemic on record has taken a tragic toll on life, with 11 300 deaths out of 28 600 cases since its declaration in March 2014, according to WHO.

Santo Domingo.- El Comité Técnico de la Comisión Nacional de Emergencias se reunió este miércoles con representantes del proyecto “Estudio de la amenaza sísmica y vulnerabilidad física del Gran Santo Domingo” para conocer los avances de los estudios geológicos, estructurales y de vulnerabilidad que se realizan en cuatro de los
municipios de la provincia de Santo Domingo, tres municipios de la provincia San Cristóbal y el Distrito Nacional.
