Remarks by the High-Representative/Vice President Federica Mogherini ahead of the EU Development Ministers Informal Meeting

The Delegation of the European Union to the Russian Federation and Embassies of the EU Member States, together with their local partners – Moscow School of Management Skolkovo and the National Research University Higher School of Economics – will, from 12th till 18th September, mark with several events the Climate Diplomacy Week.

Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, met with Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj of Kosovo in Brussels today.

The upcoming session of the Human Rights Council (HRC33) will once again be an opportunity for the international community to address and respond to human rights violations and abuses worldwide. Against the background of increased challenges to the global human rights aquis, the EU, working in close cooperation with partners, is resolved to be ever more vigilant and pro-active to keep key human rights issues in focus, to defend the universality, indivisibility and interdependence of all human rights, and to safeguard the independence of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human rights, of human rights' special procedures, as well as the treaty-monitoring bodies.

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Zambia wishes to express its appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Zambia, the Electoral Commission of Zambia, stakeholders and the people of Zambia for their cooperation and assistance in the course of the EU EOM.

Afghanistan is cementing its ties with the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol). This is thanks to a EUPOL project supporting the synchronisation of the database of the Afghan Border Police with that of the global crime fighting organisation.
