To respond quickly to the needs of the Syrian population in a way that is conducive to local governance, early recovery and stabilization, by directly engaging with reliable partners inside Syria to deliver basic services to the population and secondarily to support the local Turkish authorities’ efforts to decrease tensions between Syrian refugees and their Turkish host populations.
Improve employability and reduce unemployment rates among Palestine refugees and Syrian citizens, with a focus on Palestine refugee yourh. It is envisaged that by strengthening UNRWA's expertise in these areas, it will also be able to play a proactive role in supporting the development of civil society in Syria.
Contribute to a better Urban Information and Analysis in Syria in order to better plan, target and monitor humanitarian and recovery interventions; provide technical support to the continuous analysis of critically affected cities in Syria on issues of damage, displacement, shelter, infrastructure, basic services, and livelihoods.
Ensure well-coordinated livelihoods and early recovery response that provides IDPs and their host communities with rapid employment opportunities to enhance service delivery and rehabilitate basic community infrastructure; and creates/stabilises basic livelihoods in view of supporting spontaneous recovery efforts.
