The European Union and its Member States are providing a broad package of health and social support measures for the most vulnerable Kenyans in informal settlements and across the country, through a mix of emergency response and longer term support.

World Vision, with the support of the European Union, renovated an old water tank which provides water to farming families of Kuruvithenna in Rideemaliyadda, Badulla. This tank was left unrenovated for decades, reducing its capacity and hampering farming activities. This is the story of how these families came together to save their way of life.

On 28 May, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, had a videoconference with the Indian Minister of External Relations, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The main topics of their conversation were the response to the coronavirus pandemic and preparations for the 15th EU-India Summit, which had been postponed in March due to the outbreak of the virus.

In a bid to fight the spread of COVID 19, the European Union (EU) in Ghana on Wednesday joined the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and artists from the Ghana Graffiti Collective, to launch an initiative to use street art and graffiti to create awareness about the virus and also to raise awareness on migration.
