High Representative Federica Mogherini today in Brussels hosted the Libya Quartet – the EU, the African Union, the League of Arab States, and the United Nations - to assess developments in Libya

Le Programme "Fit For Market" a été officiellement lancé le 16 mai dernier à Douala. Proposé et géré par le Comité de liaison Europe-Afrique-Caraïbes-Pacifique (COLEACP), ce programme est doté d'une enveloppe de 25 millions d'euros (dont 20 issus du 11ème Fonds européen de développement-FED) et aura une durée de 5 ans. L'objectif est de renforcer les capacités des petits producteurs, des groupes d'agriculteurs et PME, de manière à leur faciliter l'accès aux marchés internationaux et nationaux, en prenant en compte les questions sanitaires et phytosanitaires, ainsi que des exigences du marché.

The European Union (EU), the African Union (AU), the League of Arab States (LAS), and the United Nations (UN) met in Brussels on 23rd May 2017 to assess developments in Libya since their last meeting in Cairo on 18th March 2017 and further coordinate their efforts to advance the political process and assist Libya in its democratic transition.

As a first measure of support, the European Commission is transporting aid workers and critical medical material to the affected area the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) which is facing an outbreak of Ebola. A plane of the Commission's humanitarian aid service 'ECHO Flight' which can transport staff and equipment of up to 2,500 kg, is due to take off from Kinshasa to Buta this Friday, 26 May.

Today, representatives of the EU Member States, the European Commission and the European Central Bank met counterparts from the Western Balkans and Turkey for the annual economic policy dialogue. The submitted 2017 Economic Reform Programmes (ERPs) of the Western Balkans and Turkey outline the medium-term macroeconomic and fiscal framework as well as a wide range of structural reforms to enhance competitiveness and long-term growth. The programmes cover the period 2017-2019.

Programet mbulojnë periudhën 2017-2019.


The Co-financing agreement between the European Union (EU) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has been signed at a ceremony at the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) I Accra on 23rd May 2017. Implemented by German GIZ in cooperation with COTVET, the Ghana Skills Development Initiative seeks to improve the quality of the traditional apprenticeship system in the informal sector.

In the annual Economic and Financial Dialogue with the EU held today, the
Western Balkans and Turkey agreed to speed up economic and social reforms
in order to strengthen macroeconomic stability and boost competitiveness and
inclusive growth.
