European Union Delegation to Pakistan and WWF-Pakistan joined hands to promote action on climate change by celebrating Climate Change Diplomacy Week. The event on, 25 September, brought together people from all walks of life to become part of the exchanges taking place worldwide in exploring opportunities through the transition to low carbon economies while ensuring equitable access to sustainable development.

From 19 to 23 September 2016, a CIVCOM delegation visited the EUMM. The delegation was led by the CIVCOM Chair Jana Kalimonova and was composed of representatives of the various EU member states. A number of officials from the EU’s External Action Service from Brussels also accompanied the group. The purpose of the visit was for CIVCOM delegates to familiarise themselves with the situation on the ground and the day-to-day work of the Mission.

Meeting ahead of the CITES COP17 in Johannesburg, Mr Karmenu Vella, EU Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and Dr Edna Molewa, SA Minister of Environmental Affairs, have reinforced bilateral cooperation in the area of Environment, Climate Change and Sustainable Development
