The European Business Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (EuroCham) and the Ministry of Investment/ Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), today (21/9) held an Investment Dialogue titled “Post-Pandemic Economic Recovery; Attracting Investment through Structural Reform”.


A propósito de la entrada en vigor en mayo pasado de la Ley Orgánica de Protección de Datos (LOPD) en Ecuador, la Unión Europea participó en el “Seminario internacional de protección de datos personales sobre la LOPD: de la teoría a la práctica”, organizado por la Universidad Internacional de Ecuador, con el afán fomentar el diálogo sobre esta normativa que busca regular el flujo de datos digitalizados de los ecuatorianos, garantizar sus derechos y activar la economía digital.

Today, the EU and Colombia agreed on a “Memorandum of Understanding on an Agenda of enhanced political and sectoral dialogue and cooperation for the next decade”, signed by High Representative Josep Borrell and the Vice President and Foreign Minister of Colombia, Marta Lucía Ramírez in New York, in the presence of President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the Republic of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez.

Today marks the fourth anniversary of the provisional implementation of the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). Compared with 2016 – the last full year before CETA entered into force – total trade flows between the EU and Canada witnessed an increase of 15.3% for goods in 2020 despite the pandemic. Similarly, trade in agricultural goods increased 34.7% in 2020 compared to 2016. These positive trends highlight the importance of CETA as a bedrock of our relationship with Canada.
