The new HANDBOOK ON CSDP was released on 18 May 2017. The third edition was presented in the Foreign Affairs Council on Defence by the ministers of Austria and Cyprus. The High Representative, Ms Federica Mogherini, welcomed the new handbook and concluded: 'This handbook gives an excellent overview of our CSDP. Recognised experts from Europe provided their expertise to contribute to this new edition, which was published by Austria and Cyprus.'
The Press and Public Information officers from several CSDP missions and operations received interactive training in Brussels provided by the Strategic Communication Division of the EEAS. Silivio Gonzato welcomed the participants to the two- day seminar and underlined the importance of 'Communicating CSDP' not only in the mission area, but also back home in Europe.
The 5th ESDC Course on Peacebuilding was jointly organised by the Austrian Study Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution (ASPR) and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) under the umbrella of the European Security and Defence College. Internationally -renowned trainers from Europe and overseas provided an insight into the wide field of peacebuilding from 7th to 12th May 2017 in the castle of Stadtschlaining (Austria).
The 5th annual Conference of the European Association of Peace Operations Training Centres (EAPTC) met in Helsinki from 2nd to 4th May 2017 at the Finnish Defence Forces International centre (FINCENT).
