The inauguration of the new Venezuelan National Assembly will be key to democracy in Venezuela. 
It is important that the National Assembly can fully discharge its constitutional prerogatives, thus respecting the people's vote.

The newly elected members can now engage constructively in debate, dialogue and where necessary negotiated consensus, on proposals tackling the economic, social and security challenges of Venezuela. 

In this context, the EU stands ready to step up its relations with Venezuela

Description: The overall objective of the contract is to reinforce the capacity and improve performance of the Government of Ukraine (GoUA) in the coordinated effort to implement economic and secotral policies deriving from national reform processes  and commitments set out in the EU – Ukraine Association Agreement and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (AA/DCFTA), with the ultimate goal of achieving swift and full political and economic association with the EU.

This morning, the HR/VP Federica Mogherini, had a phone call with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, after the violences that followed the execution in Saudi Arabia of Sheikh Nimr al Nimr. During the long conversation, HRVP Mogherini was informed of the incident at the Saudi embassy and of the steps taken by the Iranian authorities to defuse the tensions and protect the Saudi diplomats.
