Launch of the EU funded Soroti Solar Power Plant

With EU support, Uganda brought online on 12th December, its first and East Africa's largest Solar Power Plant. 

The new 10 megawatt facility is Uganda's first grid-connected solar plant and will generate clean, low-carbon, sustainable electricity to 40,000 homes, schools and businesses in the area.

With PHP 90 billion in 2015, the European Union remains the largest investor in the Philippines, and is becoming more important: EU share of totals went up from 11% in 2013 to 37% in 2015.

Among our 28 EU Member States, the Netherlands was by far the largest investor, with 83% of all EU investments in the last three years, followed by Germany with 8%.

On the 5th of December, H. E. Mr. Jean–Michel Dumond, the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of the Sudan, visited cooperation projects funded by the European Union, which support agriculture, livelihoods, fisheries, education and health in Red Sea State.
