At the beginning of his mandate, President Juncker said this would be a new start for Europe, and that his Commission would focus on ten political priorities, the key challenges that face both our economy and society.
The 12th EU-China Joint Steering Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation took place in Beijing on 30 October 2015 under the co-chairmanship of the European Commission Director General for Research and Innovation Robert-Jan Smits and the Chinese Vice Minister for Science and Technology Cao Jianlin.
The 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting will take place on 5-6 November under the theme "Working Together for a Sustainable and Secure Future". It will be chaired by High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy /Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini and hosted by the Government of Luxembourg.
Meeting in Vienna, on October 30, 2015, China, Egypt, the EU, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United Nations, and the United States [“the participants”] came together to discuss the grave situation in Syria and how to bring about an end to the violence as soon as possible.
The 2015 EU-SADC Ministerial dialogue took place 27th October in Luxembourg. The SADC (Southern African Development Community) comprises 15 countries  in Southern Africa, a region praised for its continued stability and economic growth.
