The European Commission and Austria announced on 20 April the conclusion of agreements for the delivery of COVID-19 vaccines for the Western Balkans. The 651,000 BioNTech/Pfizer doses are funded by the European Commission and will be shared with the facilitation of Austria. The first delivery to all the partners in the region is due in May, with regular tranches to continue until August.


Ny strategi for bekjempelse av organisert kriminalitet

I april la Kommisjonen fram sin femårige strategi for å bekjempe organisert kriminalitet. Formålet med strategien er å styrke europeisk rettshåndhevelse, bryte ned de indre strukturene i organisert kriminalitet, fjerne lønnsomheten av kriminell virksomhet og styrke rettsvesenet for den digitale tidsalderen.

Today, Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, will visit the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) in Addis Ababa. This visit marks the start of the implementation of the EU's new humanitarian initiative in support of the COVID-19 vaccination campaigns in Africa.

On 15 April, EUCAP donated forensic investigation equipment to specialized units of the internal security forces (ISF), notably the Gendarmerie research brigades of Ségou and Mopti, the Brigade d’investigation spécialisée (BIS) of Ségou and provostship units.
