Portrait de femmes du Sénégal : Sokhna Faye, productrice oignons à Mboro

Sokhna Faye est une femme et une mère de 50 ans. Elle est originaire de Thiès à environ 100 km de Dakar (Sénégal). Sokhna est membre de l'Union des Maraîchers du Littoral basée à Mboro qui a bénéficié d'un des magasins de stockage et de séchoirs d'oignons financé par l'UE. Ce magasin lui permettra de doubler ses revenus car elle conserve sa production dans des conditions optimales pour la vendre au prix fort quand l'oignon manque sur le marché. Avant la construction de ce magasin, elle s'empressait de vendre sa production de peur qu'elle ne pourrisse. Sokhna est la première femme de Mboro à avoir exporté de l'oignon.
