The Council adopted conclusions reaffirming the EU's political commitment to support the people of Afghanistan on their path towards peace, security, stability, democracy, prosperity and self-reliance. The EU will condition its future political and financial support to ensure that the republican, democratic and values-based principles are protected and further promoted. The conclusions also reiterate the EU's support for a negotiated political settlement leading to lasting peace and reconciliation, which must build on the democratic and human rights achievements of the past 19 years.

Mogadishu, 29 May 2020. The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Somalia completed special flights for the WHO country office to airlift life-saving medicine and other emergency hospital supplies for the flood-affected areas of Jowhar, Kismayo and Baidoa. These emergency drugs and medical supplies donated by WHO will be used for augmenting emergency health care for the people affected by the recent flood in the country resulting from heavy rainfalls during the past weeks.
Ulaanbaatar, 29 May 2020: The European Union supports Mongolia’s efforts in boosting employment and improving transparency in public finances with a grant of EUR 50.8 million (MNT 155.7 billion ). This is the first budget support programme in Mongolia, also aiming to address the social and economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
