On 2 July, the United Nations added Yemen to the list of highest-level humanitarian emergencies; a level 3 crisis. The country is facing a humanitarian catastrophe, with 21 million people, 80% of Yemen's population, in need of humanitarian assistance. A major food crisis is looming.


Le 2 juillet, les Nations unies ont ajouté le Yémen à la liste des urgences humanitaires du plus haut niveau (urgence de niveau 3). Le pays est confronté à une catastrophe humanitaire, 21 millions de personnes, soit 80 % de sa population, étant en situation de détresse humanitaire. Une grave crise alimentaire menace.


More than one hundred participants from 52 non-EU partner countries and international organisations, including 13 Ambassadors, gathered today at an EEAS seminar on the perspectives for the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) following the European Council of 25 and 26 June 2015.

The European Union Delegation, the Heads of Mission of France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, The United Kingdom and the Heads of Mission of Canada, Norway, Switzerland and the United States issue the following statement in South Sudan:

"The Heads of Mission are deeply disturbed by the atrocities committed by government forces documented in the recent UNMISS report on the Escalation of Fighting in Greater Upper Nile, published on June 30th 2015.

L'attaque terroriste ciblant la MINUSMA au Nord Mali aujourd'hui a emporté cinq casques bleus originaires du Burkina Faso et blessé neuf autres qui agissaient dans le cadre de leur mandat pour maintenir la stabilité et sécurité de la région.

L'UE exprime ses sincères condoléances aux familles des victimes et au gouvernement du Burkina Faso.



Today's terrorist attack against MINUSMA in northern Mali claimed the lives of five UN peacekeepers from Burkina Faso and wounded nine others who were carrying out their mandate to maintain stability and security in the region.

The EU expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Burkina Faso.


Ces attaques commises pendant le mois sacré du ramadan, qui ont fait environ 150 morts dans deux villages de l'État de Borno, situé dans le nord-est du Nigéria, et qui visaient des fidèles musulmans, constituent une nouvelle tentative de déstabilisation du pays et de la région.


The 23rd ASEAN-EU Senior Officials' Meeting was held on 2 July 2015 in Brussels. The Meeting was co-chaired by His Excellency Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and Mr Ugo Astuto, Acting Managing Director of the Asia-Pacific Department of the European External Action Service.
