Les chantiers pédagogiques pour la construction de deux écoles primaires complètes à Kaédi et Sélibaby ont démarré le 4 décembre 2017, dans le cadre du projet PECOBAT financé en Mauritanie par l'Union européenne au travers du Fonds Fiduciaire d'urgence de l'Union européenne et mis en œuvre par le BIT (Bureau International du Travail). 
 

On Tuesday, 19 December 2017, at 10.00hrs a Kick-off meeting of the EU funded project “Strengthening the operational and institutional capacities of the Customs Administration” will be organised at the EU Info Centre. This twinning project is implemented by the Agency for European Integration and Economic Development (AEI) and the Junior partner - Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance of Republic of Lithuania in cooperation with the Customs Administration (CARM) from the Beneficiary Country.

On 29.11.2017 the European Commission adopted the Action Programme for the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia for the year 2017. At the same time, the Financing Agreement between the European Union and the Government on the implementation of the IPA 2016 annual programme was signed on 30 November 2017. The two EU-funded programmes will support democracy and governance and will enhance the economic development and growth in the country.

Ambassador Pierre Mayaudon, Head of the European Union Delegation to Afghanistan, and Deputy Minister of Finance Khalid Payenda convened a consultative session on national budget reform in Afghanistan on 13 December 2017 at UNAMA Palace7.

The India-EU Water Partnership was undersigned as a Memorandum of Understanding on 7 October 2016, with the Objective to strengthen technological, scientific and management capabilities of India and the EU in the field of water management on the basis of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit. Within the 9 priority areas for cooperation, Priority Area 1 aims to set up a pilot River Basin Management Plan for the Tapi basin. Previous IEWP scoping workshops on this topic had already taken place in 2016 and 2017 on governance, water allocation and conflict management.

En marge de la célébration de la Journée internationale des migrants (le 18/12), la Secrétaire d’Etat du Ministère de l’Economique, des Finances et du Développement, Pauline Zouré, le chef de la Délégation de l’Union Européenne au Burkina Faso, Jean Lamy et la cheffe de Mission de l’organisme des Nations Unies chargé des migrations (OIM) au Burkina Faso, Abitatou Wane, ont procédé à la signature de l’Initiative conjointe Union Européenne – OIM pour la protection et la réintégration des migrants au Burkina Faso et le lancement de ces activités.
