Thank you very much first of all for the invitation, and secondly but very importantly for hosting me here in Riyadh at a special time of the year. I am very grateful for this and I am sure that this is going to be the beginning of a very strong - also personal - cooperation. I would like to congratulate you for your beginning in office in very difficult times, but with very good results already.

The EU expresses its condolences to the victims and families affected by the attack yesterday on the Jazeera Hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia, in which dozens of innocent people died.
 
Such acts of terrorism will not undermine the willingness to progress on the political process towards a stable and secure country. Those behind such crimes must be swiftly brought to justice.

CONTEXT

The project supports small and medium enterprises to improve the quality of their foods, thereby contributing to the protection of consumers’ health and helping local enterprises to access international markets.

High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the Commission, Federica Mogherini, had this afternoon a phone call with the Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The High Representative offered EU condolences to the Turkish government and the families of the victims in Suruç and of other recent attacks against police and military officers. She reaffirmed the support for Turkey's efforts to step up on ISIL and to the fight against any form of terrorism.
