El 30 de Marzo fue inaugurada la Misión de Asesoramiento de la UE sobre legislación en materia de ciberdelincuencia y evidencia electrónica realizado en el marco del proyecto GLACY+. La actividad se llevó a cabo con el objetivo de facilitar la finalización de las reformas legislativas para que Panamá se ajuste plenamente al Convenio de Budapest sobre la Ciberdelincuencia.

Con el propósito de dar a conocer las acciones de la Unión Europea y próximos eventos en Panamá, el Encargado de Negocios de la Unión Europea, Sr. Giovanni Di Girolamo, sostuvo un intercambio con representantes de la prensa local y corresponsales extranjeros.
Durante la conferencia-almuerzo, los periodistas tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer a fondo las acciones que lleva a cabo la Unión Europea en Panamá, en el plano de cooperación, político y comercial.

We are here together today for the signature of the Sector Reform Contract on Economic and Fiscal Governance, a contract that has been prepared with great care and with much consultation between Tanzania and the European Union over a considerable period of time. During this period Tanzania, Europe and the world as a whole have seen a global financial crisis, massive migration flows, threats to global security and a further evolution of our thinking about development cooperation. All this has resulted in a strong call for better governance and the need to strengthen partnerships.

Mr Doto James, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Planning, and H.E. Roeland van de Geer, Head of the European Union Delegation to Tanzania and the East African Community, today have signed the Financing Agreement for a new budget support programme worth EUR 205 million (equivalent to TZS 486.9 billion). This is part of € 626 million grant [equivalent to TZS 1.5 trillion] that EU has allocated to Tanzania under the 11th EDF for the period 2014 – 2020 to support government budget as well as energy and sustainable agriculture sectors.

The programme is developed within the DCI/Global Public Goods and Challenges 2014-2020 programme.
