To mark the month of International Women’s Day, the European Union Delegation to Singapore, together with UN Women Singapore Committee, organised a joint seminar on Women, Peace and Security.

Held on 30th March at ESSEC Business School, this was the second joint event with UN Women Singapore Committee – one which builds on and strengthens our new partnership. The seminar brought together students, members of the diplomatic community, as well as members of UN Women. 

Mr Pierre Louis Lempereur, Head of the Political, Press and Information Section of EU Delegation to Singapore, delivered the opening speech during the seminar on "Women, Peace and Security: UNSCR 1325 and Women's Participation", co-organised with UN Women Singapore Committee (30th March 2017, ESSEC Asia-Pacific).

Foreign ministers discussed the situation in Syria, ahead of the Brussels Conference on Supporting the future of Syria and the region on 4-5 April 2017. The Council adopted the EU strategy for Syria.
