The signing of the Paris Agreement in New York on Friday 22 April 2016 will be a historic event and an important step towards implementing the world's first global climate deal. HRVP Federica Mogherini and Climate Action and Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete issued a joint op-ed on the EU's ambitious action against climate change.

The ASEP9 took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on April 21-22, 2016.

The signing of the Paris Agreement in New York on Friday will be a historic event and an important step towards implementing the world's first global climate deal.

A record number of countries is expected to attend: the whole world is committed to turning the promises we made in Paris into concrete action. The Paris spirit is alive and well – and moving forward.

Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, has appointed Ms. Birgitte Nygaard Markussen as the new Director, Deputy Managing Director for Africa and Mr. Luc Devigne as the new Director, Deputy Managing Director Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia and OSCE at the European External Action Service (EEAS).

La signature de l'accord de Paris, à New York ce vendredi, constituera un événement historique et marquera une étape importante sur la voie de la mise en œuvre du premier accord mondial sur le climat.

Un nombre record de pays devraient être présents: le monde entier est déterminé à concrétiser les promesses faites à Paris. L'esprit de Paris est bien vivant et continue de progresser.

The European Union Delegation, together with the Embassy of France participated in a fun-filled youth and climate change event at Gayaza High School on Friday 22nd April 2016 to raise awareness and highlight the important contribution of the young generation to the climate change agenda. The event coincided with the signing ceremony in New York of the Paris agreement on climate change, and the World Earth Day.
