EU Climate change event to celebrate the signing ceremony for the Paris Agreement on Climate change at the UN HQ in NY was hosted at the Ambassador Sabathil's residence on the 22 April, 2016 with about 90 guests participating.

H.E. Gerhard Sabathil, Ambassador of the EU Delegation started the event with his welcoming remarks, and H.E. Fabien Penone, Ambassador of the French Embassy also joined him with his welcoming remarks. Congratulatory remarks by Dr. Kilaparti Ramakrishna, Director of UNESCAP, was followed.

The European Commission is today proposing to the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament to lift visa requirements for the citizens of Ukraine by transferring Ukraine to the list of countries whose citizens can travel without a visa to the Schengen area.

The European Union and Georgia held the ninth round of their annual Human Rights Dialogue in Brussels on 20 April 2016.
The European Union and Georgia welcomed the continued progress on Human Rights in Georgia, also acknowledged by the positive recommendation on Visa Liberalisation by the European Commission in December 2015. Both sides agreed on the importance of a free and pluralistic media environment, and political pluralism as a prerequisite for the conduct of democratic elections.
