Le 25 novembre marque la Journée internationale pour l’élimination de la violence à l’égard des femmes, qui constitue une des violations des droits humains les plus effroyables contre les femmes et les filles du monde entier. L’émancipation des femmes et des filles nécessite de prendre des mesures fortes pour apporter des changements décisifs dans leur vie. L’Union européenne et les Nations unies ont lancé à cette fin l'initiative Spotlight, afin d'apporter un rayon de lumière dans ce combat. À l’occasion de la Journée internationale, les institutions européennes seront illuminées en orange dans le cadre de la campagne «Tous UNiS», afin de symboliser un avenir meilleur, sans violence.

25 November marks International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, one of the most devastating human rights violations against women and girls around the world. Empowerment of women and girls requires vigorous efforts to bring significant changes in their lives. To this end the European Union and the United Nations have embarked on the Spotlight Initiative, a ray of light in this ongoing fight. On the International Day, the EU institutions are lit up in orange as part of the UNiTE campaign, to symbolize a brighter future without violence.

El 25 de noviembre es el Día Internacional de la Eliminación de la Violencia contra la Mujer, una de las más devastadoras violaciones de los derechos de las mujeres y las niñas en todo el mundo. Para empoderar a las mujeres y las niñas, harán falta enérgicos esfuerzos que aporten verdaderos cambios en sus vidas. Con este objetivo, la Unión Europea y las Naciones Unidas han lanzado la Iniciativa Spotlight, rayo de luz en esta lucha continua. Con motivo del Día Internacional, y dentro de la campaña ÚNETE, las instituciones europeas se vestirán de naranja para simbolizar un futuro más brillante en el que no exista la violencia.

Em 25 de novembro, comemora-se o Dia Internacional pela Eliminação da Violência contra as Mulheres, que constitui uma das violações dos direitos humanos mais devastadoras contra as mulheres e as raparigas em todo o mundo. A capacitação de mulheres e raparigas exige grandes esforços para se conseguir mudar significativamente as suas vidas. A União Europeia e as Nações Unidas lançaram a iniciativa Spotlight, que pretende ser um raio de luz neste combate permanente. Por ocasião deste dia internacional, as instituições europeias serão iluminadas a cor de laranja no âmbito da campanha UNiTE, para simbolizar um futuro melhor sem violência.

40 European short-term observers were deployed on November 24 from Tegucigalpa to the departments across Honduras. With the arrival of this new group of observers, the European Union Election Observation Mission will observe general elections on Sunday 26 November with more than 100 observers.

A second group of 40 short-term European observers arrived on November 21 to Honduras to reinforce the European Union Election Observation Mission. This group will join a Core Team of 9 experts based in Tegucigalpa and 22 long-term observers, who are working in the field for the last five weeks. A total of more than 100 observers will be deployed across the country on election day. The Chief Observer, Member of European Parliament Marisa Matias, arrived along with the short-term observers in her second visit to the country.
