EU Member States have committed themselves to a Common Foreign Security Policy for the European Union. To strengthen the EU's external ability to act through the development of civilian and military capabilities in conflict prevention and crisis response.


Stability, security, and good governance in the G5 Sahel countries are of paramount importance to the EU. The need to address common security challenges such as Terrorism, Illicit Trafficking, and Transnational Organised Crime is at the core of the EU intervention in the Sahel and for the security and wellbeing of European citizens. The EU's Regional Advisory and Coordination Cell for the Sahel (RACC) contributes to peace and stability in region.



On Thursday 14 October 2021, the European Union (EU) hosted a high-level panel discussion at Expo 2020 Dubai focusing on sustainable food systems with speakers from the EU, Italy, Japan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

EUTM MOZ will become operational as soon as the ongoing handover from the Portuguese Armed Forces Training Project will be concluded, and is expected to reach its full operational capability by mid-December 2021.
