مراقبة الانتخابات هي نشاط حيوي يقوم به الاتحاد الأوروبي بهدف تعزيز الديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان وسيادة القانون في جميع أنحاء العالم. وهي تساهم في تعزيز المؤسسات الديمقراطية وبناء الثقة العامة في العمليات الانتخابية، وتساعد على ردع التزوير والترهيب والعنف. كما أنها تعزز أهداف السياسة الخارجية الأساسية الأخرى للاتحاد الأوروبي، ولا سيما بناء السلام.
In response to an invitation by the Jordanian authorities, the European Union has deployed an Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to observe the Parliamentary elections which are scheduled for 20 September 2016. The EU EOM to Jordan is led by Mr Jo LEINEN, a member of the European Parliament from Germany
On 30-31 August, EUPOL Afghanistan organised a joint two-day conference with the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) on the future of civilian policing in Afghanistan: Leadership and equality in the Afghan National Police (ANP).
