Gender equality means equal visibility, empowerment, responsibility and participation for both women and men in all spheres of public and private life. It also means an equal access to and distribution of resources
between women and men.
A new programme called Innovating Jogja was launched in Yogyakarta on 19 July 2016, aiming to foster innovation activities through the engagement of a wide range of stakeholders. The initiative is supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, BNI Bank, universities and business in Yogyakarta, as well as the European Union.
