Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation. Upon recruitment, the successful candidate will occupy a specific job function as Budget / Accounting Assistant – this job function may be changed in accordance with the needs of the Delegation. Under this job function the successful candidate will serve as accounting assistant and financial manager of the budgetary and contractual aspects of the EU co-development projects in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Cuba, under the supervision and responsibility of the Head of the Finance, Contract and Audit Section.

Today, the Council adopted a regulation which aims to speed up the development and the deployment of a vaccine against COVID-19 in the EU. The act provides for a temporary derogation for clinical trials with such vaccines from the prior environmental risk assessment required in the EU legislation on the deliberate release in the environment and the contained use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

In response to a recent deadly landslide in Hpakant, a jade mining community in Myanmar's northern Kachin state, the European Union is providing €85,000 (some 131 million Myanmar kyat) in humanitarian aid. The funding will directly benefit some 1,500 people affected by the disaster.
