The European Union Delegation to the Philippines warmly welcomes the third approval of the EU-Philippines Partnership and Cooperation Agreement today (22 January) in the Senate.

EU Ambassador Franz Jessen said that the concurrence of the Senate to the ratification of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement is a major milestone and a big step forward in the EU-Philippines relationship.

On 22 January, the Council decided to publish the mandate given to the Commission on 13 November 2017 to modernise the existing association agreement with Chile.

Wednesday, 10th January 2018; Singida: Today HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation handed over three vegetable processing centres constructed in Mkalama, Iramba and Singida rural districts to the community and government. The ceremony was attended by Singida Regional Commissioner, Dr.Rehema Nchimbi who was the guest of honor, the three districts commissioners of the respective districts together with other government officials, HELVETAS staff, farmers, journalist and other invited guests.

EU Ambassador Pierre Mayaudon denounces the terrorist attack which last night targeted the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul. Nothing can justify such an ignominious act of violence. All those who bravely saved lives must be commended. EU Ambassador Mayaudon conveys his condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wishes a prompt recovery to those injured. Supporting the peace process is the best possible response to this vile aggression.  The EU stands by the people of Afghanistan.

Today, the European Commission adopted its second biennial GSP report to the European Parliament and the Council, including an assessment of the Philippines' implementation of 27 international conventions on human rights, labour rights, the environment and good governance.
