Thirty representatives of Civil Society were awarded certificates in Social Auditing and Public Finance Literacy to improve their potential oversight role in public financial management.

Even if the European Union and the United Kingdom conclude a highly ambitious partnership covering all areas agreed in the Political Declaration by the end of 2020, the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU acquis, the internal market and the Customs Union, at the end of the transition period will inevitably create barriers to trade and cross-border exchanges that do not exist today.

There will be broad and far-reaching consequences for public administrations, businesses and citizens as of 1 January 2021, regardless of the outcome of negotiations. These changes are unavoidable and stakeholders must make sure they are ready for them.

La session de clôture aura lieu le 18 décembre 2020, qui coïncide avec le 20e anniversaire de la Journée internationale des migrants, et comprendra des discours de la Commissaire européenne aux affaires intérieures, Ylva Johansson, et du Ministre canadien de l'immigration, des réfugiés et de la citoyenneté, Marco Mendicino.

As part of the Migration Platform launched in 2016, the EU and Canada are organizing a series of virtual events and discussions in an effort to look at the integration of migrant women on both sides of the Atlantic. The closing session will take place on 18 December 2020, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of International Migrants Day, and will feature speeches by European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, and Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Marco Mendicino.
