We are working together to tackle the common challenges of today, from investing in youth, fostering sustainable development and strengthening peace and security to boosting investment in the African continent, good governance and better managing migration. On 29/30 November the EU and Africa will further strengthen their long standing partnership at the 5th African Union – European
Union Summit, in Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire.
The project aims to promote institutionalization of the cooperation between active civil society organisations and the state authorities in the area of human dimension and legislative process through the activity of the Working Group (WG) and sub-groups of the Consultative and Advisory Body “The Dialogue Platform on Human Dimension” (CAB DHD).
The project geared towards building capacity of civil society actors, including human rights defenders, activists, lawyers, Public Councils and media representatives to hold the duty bearers accountable for implementing the rights to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association (Specific Objective 1). At the same time it will foster dialogue between civil society and the executive, judiciary and legislative, leading to the observance and enforcement of applicable international human rights norms and standards in law and practice (Specific Objective 2).
