Ukraine’s success in its anti-corruption efforts is critical to delivering results demanded by the people on the Maidan as well as to attracting the foreign direct investment that is needed to support Ukraine’s economy.
We commend the increasingly effective efforts of Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau and Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to deliver on their mandates.
We welcome the court’s taking action early March 7, while noting the last several days underscore the need to establish a specialized anti-corruption court.
The EUVP is jointly sponsored and administered by the European Parliament and the European Commission. It has been in operation since 1974.
The EUVP invites young leaders from Ukraine to visit Europe to gain first-hand information on EU activities as well as a better understanding of its values and complexity. At the same time, it allows to share perspectives and best practice on issues of mutual concern.
An EUVP visit consists of an individual five- to eight-day program of meetings with EU officials at the EU institutions in Brussels, Strasbourg and/or Luxembourg . All programs are coordinated and arranged by the EUVP Secretariat and not by individual participants. Travel and per diem costs are covered by the EUVP. The Delegation of the European Union provides visa support for participants.
Botswana has achieved much when it comes to gender parity in areas such as employment, land ownership or enrolment in secondary and tertiary education but women and girl children are still far too often victims of gender based violence and abuse. Sexual abuse of school girls remains a big concern "as you know better than I could ever. And it is simple: it is wrong. And we all need to be bold enough to say so and to be bold enough to do something against it, " European Union Ambassador to Botswana and SADC Alexander Baum Baum said at the national commemoration of the International Women's Day at Ditshegwane Village.
