The Delegation of the European Union to Sudan announced the launching of the eighth edition of the European Film Festival on Saturday 19th November 2016.
This year the festival brings 20 films from 18 European countries including: Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal,Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the European Union.
The Delegation of the European Union to Tanzania, together with the Gender Centre of the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands have organized an event to mark Human Rights Day on 13 December from 01:00pm at Nkrumah Hall-UDSM.
On 10 December, the European Union and its Member States celebrate Human Rights Day. As inequality and violations of human rights pose increasing challenges across the world, and conflict continues in countries such as Syria, it is all the more important that we redouble our efforts to defend the rights of all people. This is why this year we join the United Nations in calling upon people to stand up for someone's rights.
The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) says Ghana’s closely contested Presidential and Parliamentary elections delivered to the Ghanaian people a generally well-administered and transparent vote, which largely escaped the violence many had feared. However, the EU EOM added the misuse of incumbency, including unequal access to state media, and unaccountable campaign financing were areas Ghana could address in the future.
