The European Union called on Kosovo to revoke its decision to increase import tax on goods coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a move described by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini’s Spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic as a violation of Kosovo’s obligations.

EU foreign affairs ministers, gathered today in Luxembourg for a Foreign Affairs Council, have condemned Turkey's military action in north east Syria. "We have a common united European Union position … on the developments in the north-east of Syria … there is a clear condemnation from the European Union’s side of Turkey’s military action", said High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini at the press conference following the Council.

The Council focussed on the situation in Syria, including north-east Syria, and on Turkey's drilling activities. Foreign ministers discussed Ukraine and had an exchange of views with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko.

The EU Foreign Affairs Council met today and adopted the following conclusions:

On Friday 11 October 2019 was the launch of the EU funded project ‘‘Community Empowerment for Prevention of Sexual and Gender Based Violence for Women and Girls’’ in Freetown!

EU will support Development Initiative Programme and its partner Child Fund over a period of 2 years with a grant of 531,000.00 EUR to implement this ambitious project, which will focus on reducing adolescent pregnancy and child marriage.
