Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s high representative for foreign policy, argues that the deal with Iran points the way to wider breakthroughs in the region.

The European Union Delegation, the Heads of Mission of  Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, The United Kingdom and the Heads of Mission of Canada, Norway, Switzerland and of the United States of America issue the following statement in South Sudan:

Meeting in Vienna, on October 30, 2015, China, Egypt, the EU, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United Nations, and the United States [“the participants”] came together to discuss the grave situation in Syria and how to bring about an end to the violence as soon as possible.

 

Several reports have emerged of a multiple rocket attack yesterday on and in the vicinity of Camp Hurriya in Iraq, which killed over 20 camp residents and injured a much larger number including Iraqi soldiers guarding the camp.

This attack on unarmed residents constitutes the gravest violation of the Camp's security since October 2013.

We send our condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.

Selon plusieurs sources, le camp iraquien Hurriya et ses alentours ont été la cible de plusieurs tirs de roquette hier. Cette attaque a coûté la vie à 20 résidents du camp et blessé un nombre de personnes bien plus élevé, notamment des soldats iraquiens chargés de la garde du camp.
Cette attaque contre des résidents sans armes constitue l'atteinte la plus grave à la sécurité du camp depuis octobre 2013.
