Danas slavimo još jedan korak ka ujedinjenom i mirnom kontinentu.”

Twenty years ago the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina was one of the most violent conflicts in modern European history. Europe saw warfare that had not been seen since the end of the World War Two. Today, Monday 15 February, saw the same country submit its application for EU membership.

The theme of the EU pavilion this year is European authors and books.

An intense three days at the Munich Security Conference saw EU High Representative Federica Mogherini attend the Quartet meeting on the Middle East Peace Process and also the International Support group (ISSG) for Syria.

After long talks on Thursday the ISSG agreed on a cessation of hostilities in Syria, allowing access of humanitarian aid to relieve the suffering of civilians. To this end the High Representative confirmed to the BBC that the EU will open a humanitarian office in Damascus.

The February meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council saw discussions on Syria, an action plan on climate being adopted and the lifting of most of the restrictive measure on Belarus.

Speaking to the press after the meeting EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said she debriefed the EU Foreign Ministers on the work of the International Syria Support Group in Munich last week. She stressed that there was "complete unity" that all sides must stick to their commitments made just four days ago. She said the setbacks were not a reason to change policy.
