The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Tanzania, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM), is facilitating the preparation of an Energy Performance Regulatory Framework for large buildings, including Energy Performance Certification guidelines. The assignment is supported through the EU Technical Assistance Facility for the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) initiative – Eastern and Southern Africa. The EU is already a long standing partner supporting the energy sector in Tanzania. The EU has scaled up its engagement in the sector with Energy selected as one of the three focal areas for support under the EU-Tanzania cooperation framework for 2014-2020 (11th EDF), with a total allocation of EUR 180 million.

Training Support to the Fijian Sugarcane Industry Project Impact Stories contains the latest collection of stories on the impact of the European Union-funded Training Support to the Fijian Sugarcane Industry project.

In response to a series of floods that wreaked havoc across areas of the north-eastern states of Assam and Manipur since May, the European Commission is providing close to 200 000 EUR (INR 15,052,000) in humanitarian aid funding to assist the most vulnerable communities. The aid will directly benefit 25 000 heavily affected people in flood-stricken areas.
