La «stratégie de l'UE dans le domaine des relations culturelles internationales» présentée par la Commission européenne et la haute représentante de l’Union pour les affaires étrangères et la politique de sécurité vise à encourager la coopération culturelle entre l’UE et ses pays partenaires et à promouvoir un ordre mondial fondé sur la paix, l’état de droit, la liberté d’expression, la compréhension mutuelle et le respect des valeurs fondamentales.

The European Union has mobilised 3 million Euros (approximately 45 million Maloti) under the European Development Fund (EDF) for a new civic education programme in Lesotho, with the title of 'Participatory Initiative for Social Accountability' (PISA). The EU is funding this PISA programme in partnership with the German Government, which is providing an additional 0.465 million Euros (approximately 7 million Maloti).

En prenant, le 19 mai 2016, la décision de dépénaliser l'homosexualité, les Seychelles sont venues grossir le rang des pays africains où les relations homosexuelles sont légales.

Par cette décision sans précédent, les Seychelles ont rejoint les pays, de plus en plus nombreux, qui ont pris des mesures pour respecter leurs engagements internationaux en matière de droits de l'homme en faveur de l'égalité de toutes les femmes et de tous les hommes, quelle que soit leur orientation sexuelle.
