A three-day Regional Workshop on Infrastructures for Peace in West Africa was held in Accra. The workshop which was from 1 - 3 June 2016 was organised under the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) Project on Building National Capacities for Conflict Prevention.

La Commission européenne a adopté une proposition de décision du Conseil cette semaine (31 mai 2016) sur l'insertion des règlements sur les autorités européennes de surveillance et certains des règlements et directives associés dans l'accord sur l'Espace économique européen (EEE). C'est une étape très importante vers l'extension du système européen de surveillance financière (SESF) aux pays de l'EEE et de l'AELE: La Norvège, l’Islande et le Liechtenstein.

The European Commission adopted a proposal for a Council Decision this week (31 May 2016) on the incorporation of the Regulations on the European Supervisory Authorities and some of the related Regulations and Directives into the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). This is an important step towards the extension of the European System of Financial Supervision (ESFS) to the EEA EFTA countries: Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) for Tanzania’s 2015 General Elections today submitted to Tanzanian partners its final report containing proposals for reforms to improve the electoral process and enhance voter confidence in future elections.

 

Members of the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan (IRPT) have been sentenced by the Supreme Court of Tajikistan: deputy leaders Saidumar Hussaini and Mahmadali Hait were sentenced to life imprisonment, while long prison sentences were given to eleven other members of the party.

Des membres du parti de la renaissance islamique du Tadjikistan (PRIT) ont été condamnés par la Cour suprême du Tadjikistan: les dirigeants adjoints Saidumar Hussaini et Mahmadali Hait ont été condamnés à la prison à vie et de longues peines de prison ont été prononcées contre onze autres membres du parti.
