This June, the European Union (EU) in Jordan and EUNIC Jordan are hosting the 4th Annual Europe Day Concert, featuring Jordanian Rock Band Akher Zapheer and Spanish Flamenco-fusion singer Maui.
This year's celebration coincides with World Music Day and it's organized in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The free-of-charge, open-air concerts will be held at the Boulevard Abdali, on Friday 21 June 2019, from 7PM till 9h30PM.
This annual crossover event aims to bring together Jordanian and European young talents on stage and to celebrate diversity, cultural fusion, creativity, unity and dialogue.
Europe Day, held on 9 May every year, celebrates peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historical 1950 'Schuman declaration'.
World Music Day, also known as Fête de la Musique, is an annual music celebration that takes place on 21 June. In many cities around the world, musicians give free open-air concerts in their neighbourhoods or in public spaces and parks. In Amman, this celebration happens thanks to a partnership initiated last year between the EU Jordan, EUNIC Jordan and the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
