The return of Kosovo Serb representatives to the Assembly and the Government is an important step. It confirms our strong belief that it is only through cooperation, inclusion and dialogue that the elected leaders can bring better future for all communities in Kosovo.

We are committed to continue supporting such positive steps.



We take note of the preliminary findings and conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR International Election Observation Mission on the Presidential elections of the 26 April in Kazakhstan.


I spoke today to Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin ahead of tomorrow's summit between the European Union and Ukraine in Kyiv.

We discussed the issues on the agenda, including the ongoing reform process as well as the situation in eastern Ukraine.



The sentence of seven and a half years imprisonment and a further three-year ban on holding public office handed down to prominent human rights lawyer Intigam Aliyev by an Azerbaijani Court is a further demonstration of the increasingly difficult  situation faced by human rights defenders in Azerbaijan.



It was my pleasure to meet Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, in Brussels today.

The EU is committed to Montenegro's European future. I welcomed Montenegro's progress in the negotiations and highlighted the need for strong political commitment to deliver tangible results, especially in the rule of law area.
