The 6th EU-US Energy Council will be held on Wednesday, 3 December 2014 at the Headquarters of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
The Energy Council will bring together High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice President of the Commission Federica Mogherini, Commission Vice-President for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič and Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete, with US Secretary of State John Kerry.
High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini and Secretary of State Kerry will make short statements at approximately 13.45, which will be made available via Europe by Satellite at around 14.45 along with audio-visual coverage of the meeting.
A joint statement will be issued following the conclusion of the meeting.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the press conference planned for 17.20 with Vice-President Šefčovič and Energy Secretary Moniz has been cancelled.
A technical background press briefing will be held at 16.00 with senior EU and US officials in the same venue, EEAS building, Rond-point Schuman 9, at 16.00. As space remains limited, accreditation (for those not already confirmed for the press conference) will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
