About the Ambassador

Dear friends,

Since October 2021, I have the honour of representing the European Union to Norway, one of our closest partners, friends and allies. I look forward to my time here, hoping to learn as much as I can about Norwegian society, politics, history, culture and nature. Norway and the European Union are strongly connected. We share common heritage, history, values and democratic ways of life. We both have a multilateral vision for engaging with the world and the same end-goals of making the world a better and more sustainable place for all.

The European Union and Norway cooperate on a large number of areas, this is made possible by the European Economic Area Agreement. Everything from trade to research, education, development, energy, social cohesion, technology, foreign policy, defence, the Covid-19 pandemic, the Arctic, culture and more, are covered. Norway has much expertise, vital for Europe’s green and digital transitions. We both have high ambitions for a sustainable environment and I am looking forward to working with our Norwegian partners on this.
I will work to make sure our friendship and cooperation continue to thrive.

The role of the Delegation is to represent the European Union to Norwegian officials, stakeholders, organisations, civil society and the public. On this website, you will find information and news about the European Union and our Delegation here in Norway.
