Mrs Laurence Argimon-Pistre is the first Ambassador of the European Union to be accredited to the Republic of San Marino.

In her credentials speech Ambassador Argimon-Pistre stressed the keen interest that the European Union has towards strengthening its relationship with San Marino, a desire indeed shared by both, and which will be pursued through the Association Agreement whose negotiations were launched in March 2015. The Ambassador recognised the ongoing efforts of the Republic of San Marino to progressively adapt to the "acquis communautaire", and in her concluding remarks emphasized her wish as first Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of San Marino to engage with the civil society, the private sector and the youth in the country.

The ceremony was followed by a bilateral meeting with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Pasquale Valentini, and by consultations with the San Marino Chamber of Commerce.
