Forum on the Future of EU-ASEAN Relations (Brussels, 26-28 February 2018)
For the last four decades, the European Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have built up a strong partnership to ensure regional stability, prosperity and security; and create new opportunities for cooperation on regional and global challenges. Last February, representatives from the two regions gathered in Brussels to discuss concrete ways to enhance their cooperation and tackling political and security issues, promoting economy, trade and business exchanges and enhancing people-to-people contacts.
EU-ASEAN Young Leaders Forum (Brussels, 26 February 2018)
Young people represent more than 30% of the European population and about half of the ASEAN citizens are under 30 years old. They are the leaders of the future, even of the present. Their opinions and actions will be vital to enhance the cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the European Union. 26 February 2018 saw the first ever EU-ASEAN Young Leaders Forum , giving these young delegates the chance to make their voices heard and to put forward their proposals for the future.
EU-ASEAN Strategic Thinkers Forum (Brussels, 28 February 2018)
For the last few decades, the EU and ASEAN have succeeded in increasing prosperity for their citizens, ensuring peace and stability.
Last February, strategic thinkers from both regions gathered in Brussels to discuss the future of EU-ASEAN relations. In a changing world characterised by uncertainty and geopolitical shifts, will these relations still matter in the future?
